The practice offers a wide range of services which you can read about below.
Arundel Surgery is proud to offer these clinics for different medical conditions, you may be referred to these clinics by our Patient Care Advisors or you can request an appointment by asking reception.
Zoe Smith, a dietician based at St. Richard’s Hospital holds a clinic on alternate months at the surgery. She is happy to see and advise patients with any dietary problem or issue.
If you suffer from marked arthritis, we can inject specific joints with a steroid and aspirate fluid that has collected, to help relieve pain and improve mobility.
This is not performed as first line treatment, has small associated risks and can only be performed a few times. It is usually an effective way to get you over an acute flare-up of symptoms.
We can also inject a variety of ligament & tendon problems such as plantar fasciitis, golf or tennis elbow, trigger fingers and tenosynovitis.
If you are suitable for these treatments your GP will discuss the options with you in more depth.
Health Visitor/ Baby Clinics
Health visitor clinics are held at the surgery on every 2nd and 4th Wednesday morning of the month 9:30am - 11:00am.
The service provides screening clinics and offers advice in areas such as feeding, sleep and behavioural problems, postnatal depression and health education.
Sussex Community Dermatology Service (SCDS)
We host specialist dermatology clinics led by consultant dermatologist Dr. Andrew Morris here at the surgery, in a move to bring specialist services out of hospitals and closer to our patients in the community.
Dr. Mike Jenkins also carries out minor lesion and skin surgery clinics for the community dermatology service.
Dermatology/ Minor Ops
We are fortunate in having a partner who is accredited in dermatological surgery (Dr. Mike Jenkins) and can undertake removal of symptomatic skin lesions as well as low-grade skin cancers (Basal Cell carcinomas) here at the surgery in our Minor Surgery Operating Suite. We can also biopsy lesions of unclear diagnosis.
Please Note: The NHS will not fund removal of lesions for cosmetic reasons and we are unable to provide aesthetic services here at the surgery. We can however organise for the treatment/excision of cosmetic lesions by referral to an appropriate provider.
Musculoskeletal Specialist (MSK)
We are fortunate enough to have a highly trained and very experienced Physiotherapist who is professionally qualified to assess and treat patients without a referral from your GP.
Appointments can be made through reception for new problems that have not previously been seen or assessed by your GP. Matthew Shaw attends the Practice on a Wednesday.
A visiting midwife holds weekly clinics at the surgery and has regular contact with the doctors at the surgery.
Coils & Implants
We are currently unable to fit Coils & Implants but can arrange this with another surgery locally.
Arundel Surgery offers a full range of childhood and adult vaccinations. These are performed by our experienced nurses. See the NHS Vaccination Schedule
We are also able to provide certain vaccinations or tests to check for immunity such as for Hepatitis B, if you require this for work. It should be noted that these are not NHS services however and a fee will be payable.
